Mr Gidon Ellis is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. He has a broad general urology practice with a subspecialist interest in the ureteroscopic management of kidney stones, HoLEP for BPH (laser prostate surgery), and the endoscopic management of bladder and upper tract urothelial cancers. He is a core member of the bladder cancer, renal cancer, and kidney stone multi-disciplinary teams.

Mr Ellis ranked first in the UK National Selection process in 2012 and completed his higher urological training in London. He spent a year at the Institute of Urology, University College London Hospitals, specialising in endourology and the treatment of kidney stones. He received The Urology Foundation Endourology Travelling Fellowship Award. Following his specialist training, Mr Ellis undertook a Fellowship at Luton and Dunstable Hospital, focusing on laser prostate surgery (HoLEP) for managing voiding difficulties and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men.

Mr Ellis has served as a faculty member on both national and international workshops and masterclasses in kidney stone management and HoLEP surgery. His areas of expertise include cystoscopy, bladder biopsy, ureteroscopy, lithotripsy, TURP, TURBT, suprapubic catheter insertion, and injections of Botox into the bladder wall. He also performs peno-scrotal operations, including circumcision, hydrocele, and vasectomy.

Mr Ellis treats a range of conditions, including lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), prostate disorders, haematuria, bladder cancer, upper tract urothelial cancer (UTUC), and penile and scrotal conditions. He has been with the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust since his appointment in 2017.
