Dr Graham William Lipkin is a highly esteemed consultant physician and nephrologist based in Birmingham, practising privately at The Harborne Hospital and The Priory Hospital in Edgbaston. He trained at Leeds General Infirmary, St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London, and University Hospital Birmingham.

He was appointed as consultant in the early 1980s and has served in NHS and private consultant roles throughout his career. He is past president of the UK Kidney Association, national co?chair of the Renal GIRFT programme, co?author of the National Renal Quality Improvement report, chair of the board of Kidney Care UK and has held the position of clinical director of renal medicine at University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.

His expertise spans chronic kidney disease, hypertension, acute and chronic renal failure, dialysis, kidney transplantation and rare kidney conditions. His research interests include chronic kidney disease in pregnancy and kidney transplantation, with over 80 published papers and several book chapters.

Dr Lipkin led the development of the Birmingham Centre for Rare Disease, setting a national benchmark in rare renal condition care.
