About Dr Ian Beasley
A Consultant Physician in Sports and Exercise Medicine, Dr Ian Beasley has worked in professional football for almost three decades, and is now Head of Medical Services for the Football Association and Doctor to the England Senior Men’s Team. He went with the team to the World Cup 2010, and the European Championships in 2012. He was Governing Body Medical officer for Hockey between 1992-2002, and has attended two Olympics, two World Cups and a Commonwealth Games. He is also Medical Advisor to The Royal Ballet Company, London, and see dancers of all levels at the company.
Dr Beasley was awarded a scholarship to study sports medicine in 1986. He completed his diploma in 1987, and his MSc ten years later. He is also a part-time Consulting Physician at Manchester City FC, and Team Doctor to the London Broncos Rugby League team. His clinical interests are dance injuries, groin injuries, tendonopathies, troublesome muscle tears, back pain in the athletic population and 'tennis' shoulder.
