Dr James Pattison is a Consultant Nephrologist at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and also works in private practice at London Bridge Hospital and Blackheath Hospital. He has been a full-time NHS nephrologist for 25 years, having been appointed as a Consultant Nephrologist in 1996.

Dr Pattison qualified from Oxford University Medical School and specialised in kidney medicine at Guy's Hospital and Stanford University Medical Center, California. His primary clinical interests include managing patients with glomerular diseases and kidney transplantation.

Dr Pattison has a very busy clinical practice and is actively involved in research. He serves as the principal investigator in clinical trials studying new immunosuppressive agents used in kidney transplantation treatment.

His areas of expertise encompass a wide range of kidney-related conditions and procedures. These include dialysis, kidney transplantation (medical care), kidney disease diagnosis and treatment, kidney biopsy, and the management of kidney failure. He is also skilled in treating hypertension, diabetic nephropathy, blood in urine, proteinuria, autoimmune kidney disease, and polycystic kidney disease.
