Dr Jamie Vatish is a Consultant Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon at The Harborne Hospital, specialising in the comprehensive management of breast disease, with a particular focus on breast cancer surgery. His expertise encompasses the treatment of both breast cancer and benign conditions, providing reassurance and advanced care to his patients. Dr Vatish has received advanced training in oncoplastic surgery, which integrates techniques aimed at preserving the aesthetic appearance of the breast alongside effective cancer treatment.

Dr Vatish is among the select few surgeons in the West Midlands proficient in performing Chest Wall Perforator Flaps in Breast Conserving Surgery, a technique that often eliminates the need for mastectomy. He completed his medical degree at Guys, Kings and St Thomas' Medical School in 2010, alongside a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Following his higher surgical training in the Midlands, he earned a National Fellowship in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery. During this fellowship at the Leeds Breast Unit, he refined his skills, particularly in managing Breast-Implant Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL), a rare immune cancer linked to breast implants.

Currently, Dr Vatish serves within the NHS at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, home to one of the largest Breast Departments in the UK. Beyond his clinical practice, Dr Vatish is dedicated to shaping the future of medical professionals. He holds a degree in medical education and serves as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Birmingham. Additionally, he has taught courses hosted by the Royal College of Surgeons, London, and has published numerous papers on various aspects of surgery and breast disease, with a particular emphasis on breast cancer genomics and breast conserving surgery.
