Dr Jason Dunn is a Consultant Gastroenterologist based in London, specialising in therapeutic endoscopy, including HALO RFA for Barrett's oesophagus. He serves as the Clinical Lead for Endoscopy at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, where he was appointed as a consultant in 2012. Dr Dunn also has private practice privileges at London Bridge Hospital.

Dr Dunn has a special interest in Barrett’s oesophagus, early Upper GI cancer, and oesophageal endoscopic therapy. He is highly proficient in Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR) and Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) techniques. He established a regional Endotherapy centre at St Thomas’ for the South East region, including Kent, Surrey, and Sussex. He has authored guidelines for the management of Barrett’s oesophagus for London and Kent.

Awarded a CRUK clinical fellowship at UCL, Dr Dunn studied the use of optical diagnostics and minimally invasive therapies for Barrett’s oesophagus. He earned his PhD in 2011 and has presented his work at national and international meetings. His research on the treatment of Barrett’s oesophagus with RFA and the use of biomarkers to predict cancer progression has won several prizes. He has published in high-impact factor journals and contributed to book chapters. He holds Honorary Senior Lecturer posts at Kings College London and Oslo University in the Institute of Medical Informatics.

Dr Dunn also has an interest in nutrition, specialising in parenteral nutrition in oncology/palliative care and PEG tube insertion. He is the research lead for the Oesophageal Section of the British Society of Gastroenterology and serves as an advisor to NICE and a medical advisor to Action against Heartburn, a patient support charity.
