Mr Jason Yap is an experienced consultant gynaecologist specializing in gynaecological oncology, based in Birmingham. He is currently stationed at the Pan Birmingham Gynaecological Cancer Centre and attends to private patients at The Priory Hospital and The Vesey Private Hospital.
Having completed his medical degree at University College London in 2005, Mr Yap pursued specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology in Birmingham, culminating in his completion in 2020. Throughout his training, he obtained subspecialist accreditation in gynaecological oncology, with an additional focus on benign and pre-cancerous vulval conditions. During his final year of training, he was awarded a travelling fellowship by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in vulval reconstruction surgery. Furthermore, Mr Yap holds a PhD in cancer study.
In his current clinical practice, Mr Yap assumes the role of lead clinician for vulval disease, providing specialized treatments for benign, pre-cancerous, and cancerous vulval conditions. He also possesses expertise in cervical cancer, uterine cancer, and ovarian cancer, offering surgical interventions such as abdominal hysterectomy, total laparoscopic hysterectomy, and ovarian cancer surgery to ensure a comprehensive range of treatment options for his patients.
In addition to his specialization in gynaecological oncology, Mr Yap is proficient in managing and treating other gynaecological conditions, including myomectomy for the treatment of fibroids.
