Dr Jiri Pavlu is an international expert in acute leukaemia and transplantation. He is the clinical lead for acute leukaemia and myelodysplastic syndromes at Hammersmith Hospital, a world-leading haematology centre. Dr Pavlu has been a principal investigator of several clinical trials and is an active member of both the British Society of Blood and Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapy, and the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation.
With his clinical team, Dr Pavlu has introduced novel therapeutic strategies that have been incorporated into standard clinical care. He is also an accredited transplantation quality assurance inspector (JACIE). Dr Pavlu graduated from Charles University in Prague. After completing his research degree in molecular haematology in London and Prague, he pursued clinical training in Prague, Edinburgh, Birmingham, and London.
Dr Pavlu specialises in bone marrow transplantation, haematopoietic cell transplants, and leukaemia treatment. He treats a range of conditions including neutropenia, high platelets, acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, acute myeloid leukaemia, chronic myeloid leukaemia, iron deficiency, and myelodysplastic syndrome. He is highly skilled in performing hematopoietic stem cell transplants and bone marrow transplants (BMT).
His dedication to advancing haematology and improving patient outcomes makes him a respected figure in his field.
