Dr Geraghty is a Consultant Gastroenterologist with a specialist interest in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) disease, working at Central Manchester Foundation Trust since September 2016. He also holds the post of Honorary Consultant in Medical Oncology at the Christie NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Geraghty undertook his training in London, Liverpool, Oxford, and Manchester, gaining a broad range of experience in both general gastroenterology and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary disease. He completed a PhD at the University of Liverpool, followed by a year as an HPB endoscopy fellow. His thesis focused on the causes of variability in colorectal cancer outcomes and the impact of the national bowel cancer screening programme. Dr Geraghty was awarded the prestigious SHIRE Award for Excellence from the British Society of Gastroenterology.
Specialising in gastroenterology and pancreaticobiliary medicine, Dr Geraghty has gained additional specialist training and is proficient in a variety of advanced endoscopy techniques, including Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).
