Mr John Leach is a highly experienced spinal neurosurgeon based in Manchester. He has been practising since 1998 and holds a BM BCh degree. Mr Leach is the sub-specialty lead for spinal neurosurgery and has an NHS practice at Salford (Northern Care Alliance). He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and a member of both the Society of British Neurosurgeons and the British Association of Spine Surgeons.
Mr Leach has particular expertise in cervical spine surgery, including disc replacement, lumbar disc surgery, and spinal tumours. He focuses on non-operative management where possible and opts for minimally invasive operations when surgery is required. His practice is highly regarded, often treating patients from Premier League and Championship football, Super League rugby, and Premiership rugby union.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Leach hosts a multi-disciplinary team meeting with radiologists, pain specialists, and sports consultants to ensure the best possible care for his patients. He also has a medico-legal practice, advising on cases of potential medical negligence. Mr Leach is a council member of the British Association of Spine Surgeons and serves on the NHS England advisory board (CRG) for neurosurgery and spine.
