Jonathan Duncan is a fully qualified Consultant Plastic Surgeon based at the University Hospitals of South Manchester. Having graduated from the University of Manchester in 1998, he undertook surgical training in the West of Scotland before specialty training in plastic surgery in the North West. During his training, Jonathan spent time in prestigious fellowships focusing on microsurgical breast reconstruction, at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, in the treatment of skin cancer at the Melanoma Institute Australia in Sydney and in aesthetic surgery both in London and in the North West. On completion of his training he was appointed as a Consultant at the Royal Marsden Hospital before returning to the North West.

In the early part of his training, Mr Duncan spent time in dedicated research concentrating on wound healing, scar management and anti-scarring therapies. This work culminated in the award of a research doctorate as well as publications in scientific journals and national and international presentations.

Mr Duncan’s area of specialist interest is that of breast reconstruction, aesthetic and developmental breast surgery and chest wall reconstruction.
