Dr Jarman is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Brompton hospital, where he performs complex ablation and device implantation procedures at both the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals. He investigates a wide range of symptoms including palpitations, dizziness and blackouts, chest pain and breathlessness. As well as atrial fibrillation ablation, and ablation of all other cardiac arrhythmias, he also specialises in the implantation of pacemakers, including complex devices such as defibrillators and biventricular pacemakers to treat heart failure.
Dr Jarman studied medicine at Cambridge University, St Mary’s Hospital at Imperial College London, and Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA. He undertook specialist fellowship training in interventional cardiac electrophysiology and complex pacing at several leading London teaching hospitals. He is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), and has certifications in both Invasive Cardiac Electrophysiology and Cardiac Pacing from the European Heart Rhythm Association. He gained his Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from Imperial College London for research into mapping of atrial fibrillation.
Dr Jarman also holds the post of Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer in Clinical Cardiology at the National Heart & Lung Institute of Imperial College London, and regularly teaches medical students, as well as visiting fellows and consultants training in interventional catheter ablation techniques and complex pacing.
