Mr Kanna Gnanalingham is a Consultant Neurosurgeon at the Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences, Salford Royal Foundation Trust (SRFT). He also serves as an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Manchester.

Mr Gnanalingham completed his neurosurgical training in London, with specialist training in complex spinal surgery, pituitary and skull base surgery at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. He further honed his skills in minimally invasive techniques at several centres in the UK and the US.

In his busy general brain and spinal neurosurgical practice, Mr Gnanalingham treats conditions such as trauma, tumours, and degenerative spinal disease. His sub-speciality interests include pituitary surgery, oncology, and complex spine surgery, where he utilises minimally invasive techniques. He is the lead consultant for pituitary surgery in Manchester and introduced the endoscopic approach to the region.

Regarding spinal conditions, Mr Gnanalingham has particular interests in degenerative spinal disease, spinal trauma, tumours, spinal arthroplasty, and advanced spinal technologies. He prefers minimally invasive spinal approaches that reduce post-operative pain and speed up recovery.

Mr Gnanalingham's expertise covers a wide range of diseases, medical tests, and treatments, including neuro-oncology, pituitary surgery, spinal surgery, and pain injections. He is proficient in treating pituitary disorders, performing minimally invasive 'keyhole' surgery, endoscopy, and managing brain tumours.
