    About Miss Katherine George

    GMC number: 6104628

    Year qualified: 2004

Place of primary qualification: University of London

Miss Katherine George is a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon specialising in conditions of the face, head, and neck. She is one of the few surgeons in the UK trained in minimally invasive salivary gland surgery. Miss George qualified in both dentistry and medicine, achieving distinctions from St Bartholomew's and the Royal London Hospital Medical School. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and has received several awards for academic and clinical excellence.

Miss George is a core member of the multidisciplinary skin cancer team at Kings College Hospital, specialising in the surgical treatment of facial skin cancer. She is also an Advanced Trauma Life Support Instructor, teaching fellow medical professionals about the management of trauma patients. In a groundbreaking achievement, she was the first person in the world to use intracorporeal lithotripsy to break a salivary gland stone into small pieces, thus preventing the need for invasive surgery.

Her areas of expertise include facial aesthetics and reconstructive surgery, orthognathic surgery, oral medicine, and facial plastic surgery. She is skilled in non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures. Miss George also manages facial skin lesions, including skin cancer, and treats conditions like tongue tie and oral ulceration. She has been practising since her appointment in 2004 and continues to contribute significantly to her field.
