Prof. Kavin Andi is a Consultant Maxillo-Facial Surgeon specialising in ablative and reconstructive head and neck cancer surgery at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London. He also holds the title of Honourary Professor of Digital Engineering Applied to Surgery at Cranfield University, UK.

Prof. Kavin serves as a Regional Speciality Advisor to The Royal College of Surgeons of England and is an External Examiner at Kings College University. He is a MacMillan Cancer Professional Reviewer, a peer reviewer for the National Institute for Health Research, and a former President of The Institute of Maxillofacial Prosthetists and Technologists.

After completing his dental and medical degrees at Bart’s and The London Schools of Medicine and Dentistry, Kavin undertook his basic surgical training in Essex. He then returned to the London Deanery Higher Surgical Training program in Oral & Maxillo-Facial Surgery, training at prestigious institutions such as The Royal London Hospital and University College London.

Prof Andi’s research interests include augmented reality for cancer surgery, virtual reality reconstruction planning, surgical robotics, and intelligent medical imaging for malignancies. His clinical expertise encompasses rapid diagnostics for suspected cancers, neck lumps, mouth and face cancer, and microvascular free flap reconstruction. He is also skilled in facial and lingual nerve repair, reanimation surgery, and dental implants.

Appointed in 2011, Kavin was ranked first in the UK for the Advanced Head & Neck Cancer Surgery Interface Training Fellowship. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (OMFS) and the Higher Education Academy. His professional memberships include the British Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Head and Neck Society.
