Dr Raj is a distinguished consultant haematologist specialising in stem cell transplantation. She has been serving at Guys and St Thomas' and Kings College Hospitals since her appointment in 2007. Dr Raj graduated with distinction from Seth GS Medical College Mumbai in 1993 and completed her post-graduation in general medicine at LTM Medical College in 1996. She passed the MRCP UK in 1996 and subsequently specialised in haematology, training at Guys and St Thomas' and Kings College Hospitals. She achieved her FRCPath and CCST in 2007.

Dr Raj's areas of expertise include myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), and stem cell transplantation. She conducted her doctorate research on myelodysplastic syndromes under a Medical Research Council Fellowship and was awarded her PhD in 2009 for her work on the role of p15INK4B in MDS.

In her role as a consultant haematologist, Dr Raj has been the lead investigator for the UK haplo trial and has played a pivotal role in the use of extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) for acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). She is also the principal investigator for the national AML 18 and 19 trials at Guys Hospital.

Dr Raj is dedicated to advancing the field of haematology and improving patient outcomes through her clinical and research efforts. Her interests lie in the treatment and management of MDS, AML, and the complexities of stem cell transplantation.
