Mr Lavnish Joshi is a consultant ophthalmologist at The Lister Hospital. He obtained his medical degree from St George's Hospital and Medical School, University of London. He trained as an ophthalmic surgeon in Birmingham, Surrey, and Moorfields Eye Hospital. He completed advanced training through Fellowships in Medical and Surgical Retina in Toronto, Canada, and Bristol Eye Hospital.
Mr Joshi has a keen interest in teaching and has been awarded a Masters in Surgical Education. He is a College Tutor for ophthalmic trainees and runs a Retina Fellowship at Ashford and St Peter's Hospital. Additionally, he teaches on the Masters in Ophthalmology programme at University College London (UCL). He completed his research doctorate (MD) at Moorfields Eye Hospital/Institute of Ophthalmology.
Mr Joshi specialises in a wide range of conditions and procedures, including floaters, macular degeneration, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, retinal detachments, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusions, complex cataract surgery, uveitis, cataracts, and glaucoma. He is also skilled in performing punctal plugs for dry eyes, punctoplasty for watery eyes, lid cyst removal, laser treatments for retinal pathology, and laser procedures for lens capsule opacification.
