Dr Lip Lee is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and also sees patients privately. He holds the positions of Radiotherapy Quality Assurance Clinical Lead and Educational Supervisor.

Dr Lee specialises in head and neck, lung, oesophageal, and skin cancer. He graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia, in 1997, and then undertook general medical training in the UK. Dr Lee began working in oncology at The Christie in 2000, after completing his MRCP. During his training at The Christie, Dr Lee also visited the MD Anderson Cancer Centre and William Beaumont Hospital Maryland Proton Treatment Centre in the USA to develop further specific technical skills in IMRT, SABR, and Protons.

He is one of the clinical leads who developed stereotactic lung radiotherapy for lung cancer for the first time in the North West, and proton therapy in head and neck patients. Additionally, he has been involved with new developments in VMAT (Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy) for head and neck and lung cancers. Dr Lee was also on the examination panel for the Royal College of Radiologists, UK, and was the previous Training Programme Director for oncology training in the North West Region. He is currently the Clinical Director for Clinical Oncology & Radiotherapy services.

Dr Lee's research interests include intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) treatment for head and neck cancer, image guided radiotherapy (IGRT), and novel targeted agents for head and neck cancer, including monoclonal antibodies, immunomodulators, immunotherapy, and live virus.
