Mr Asif Chaudry is a highly trained British surgical oncologist with a special interest in oesophageal and gastric cancer. He works at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea, a world-renowned centre of excellence for cancer care and treatment. The Royal Marsden Hospital, along with the Institute of Cancer Research, forms the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe. Mr Chaudry is also available to see patients at the Princess Grace Hospital and Harley Street Clinic.

Mr Chaudry leads the first team in the UK to provide robotic oesophageal cancer surgery using the latest Da Vinci Xi Robot system. He also has extensive experience in conventional laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery. His dedication to innovation in surgical oncology ensures that patients receive the highest standards of care at an international level.

Educated at Wadham College, Oxford, Mr Chaudry was awarded a scholarship and qualified from Oxford University with Distinction. His subsequent training took place in Oxford, London, and Seoul, South Korea, at a centre that performs the highest volume of gastric cancer operations in the world. He was trained to perform robotic oesophageal cancer surgery by Prof Richard Van Hillegersberg in Utrecht, Netherlands.

Mr Chaudry is the surgical oncology lead or co-investigator for several research trials and is the editor of multiple authoritative texts, including “Surgical Oncology” (Oxford University Press) and “Gastric and Oesophageal Surgery” (Oxford University Press). He has chaired cancer drug development sessions at international conferences in China and the surgical oncology session at the World Cancer Congress in Singapore.

In addition to his expertise in surgical oncology, Mr Chaudry has extensive experience in general and emergency surgery, including minimally invasive gastrointestinal and hernia surgery. He provides diligent care for patients with problems of all levels of complexity.
