Dr Miele is a highly experienced specialist in women's mental health, with a career spanning over twenty years. She has a robust clinical background in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, complemented by a research background in Neuroscience. Additionally, she is an accredited infant mental health practitioner. Dr Miele currently practices as a clinical psychiatrist in the private sector, offering both in-person and remote consultations at the Portland Hospital.

From 2009 to 2023, Dr Miele served as a consultant in perinatal psychiatry at St Mary’s Hospital. During her tenure, she held the position of Perinatal Clinical Lead for the trust from 2016 to 2020. She also chaired the North West London Perinatal Mental Health Network (NHSE) from 2016 to 2022, where she played a pivotal role in developing specialist perinatal mental health services across London and establishing best practice guidelines.

Dr Miele has received specialized training in Infant Mental Health from Dr PO Svanberg, focusing on the Care Index and Parent Infant Interaction Observation Scale (PIIOS). She is an accredited trainer for the Parent Infant Interaction Observation Scale course at Warwick University Medical School. Since 2020, she has been a trustee of the AIMH UK and the Brazelton Centre UK.

Her main research interest lies in the impact of perinatal mental illness on infant development. Dr Miele is actively involved in various training and teaching programs aimed at raising awareness about perinatal mental illness and enhancing clinical skills in perinatal and infant mental health care.
