Dr Maha Awadalla is a Consultant Paediatric Neurologist and Epilepsy Specialist based in London. She has extensive experience in treating children with a variety of neurological conditions, including headaches, neurodegenerative conditions, cerebral palsy, spasticity, and acute neurological problems. Dr Awadalla has a particular focus on epilepsies and epileptic encephalopathies.

Dr Awadalla graduated from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, in 1994. She completed three years of basic training in paediatrics and earned a Master's degree in paediatrics at a tertiary university hospital in Egypt. She then relocated to Glasgow, Scotland, where she underwent further training in paediatrics, neonatology, and neurology for three years, completing her MRCPCH in 2003.

After returning to Egypt, Dr Awadalla completed her PhD in paediatrics and began higher training in paediatric neurology from 2004 to 2009. During this period, she also worked as a clinical lecturer and researcher. In 2010, she was appointed as an Associate Professor of Paediatrics and Paediatric Neurology at Ain Shams University, Cairo, and took on a consultant position. She was also awarded a fellowship from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2008.

From 2010 to 2013, Dr Awadalla worked as a Consultant Paediatric Neurologist in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, serving at military hospitals, King Faisal Hospital, and in the private sector in Jeddah. In 2013, she moved to the UK after completing her CESR (Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training) in paediatric neurology. For the past ten years, she has been a Consultant Paediatric Neurologist at the Royal London Hospital (Barts Health NHS).

In addition to her NHS role, Dr Awadalla has been practising privately at the Portland Hospital for the past four years. Throughout her career, she has developed a deep expertise in paediatric neurology, with a special interest in epilepsy and complex epilepsies.

Dr Awadalla is a member of the British Paediatric Neurology Association and a fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. Her areas of expertise include paediatric neurology with a special focus on epilepsy, and she is highly skilled in diagnosing and treating a wide range of neurological conditions in children.
