Dr Margaret Callan is a renowned and respected Consultant Rheumatologist with HCA Healthcare at The Lister Hospital. She has a wide range of experience in all areas of rheumatology and has a particular clinical interest in inflammatory arthritis and osteoporosis.
Dr Callan studied at Cambridge and Oxford University Medical Schools. Following this, she completed general and then specialist further training in London and Oxford. She qualified as a Consultant Rheumatologist in 1998 and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. She moved to work as a Consultant Rheumatologist at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in 2004 and has worked at The Lister Hospital since 2008.
Dr Callan has been heavily involved in research and held a Medical Research Council Senior Clinical Research Fellowship, leading a research group in Oxford and then London. During her career, she has published over 50 articles in the field of immunology and rheumatology.
Dr Callan offers a range of medical tests and treatments, including video consultations and joint and soft tissue injections. She treats a variety of conditions such as inflammatory arthritis, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, musculoskeletal rheumatology, and rheumatic complications of immunotherapy.
