Dr Maria Kalkani works in paediatric dentistry, with postgraduate qualifications and training in the dental care of children. Her HCA profile includes paediatric and restorative dentistry, tooth decay, traumatic dental injury and sedation dentistry.

She graduated from the University of Thessaloniki in Greece with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2007. She subsequently obtained a Certificate in Paediatric Dentistry from the Eastman Dental Institute while completing MFDS at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

Dr Kalkani gained Membership in Paediatric Dentistry through the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the surgical colleges in Edinburgh and Glasgow in 2016. She also holds a master's degree in Clinical Dentistry with Distinction from the University of Leeds.

She has published research in international peer-reviewed journals and lectured nationally and internationally on paediatric dentistry.
