Dr Melanie Powell is a highly respected medical specialist based at St Bartholomew's Hospital since 1998. She studied medicine at The Royal Free Hospital and received advanced training in cancer medicine at The Royal Marsden, Mount Vernon, and The Middlesex Hospitals.

Dr Powell specialises in the treatment of gynaecological, head and neck cancers, as well as radiation therapy for lymphoma and prostate cancer. Her main research interests focus on improving the targeting of radiation therapy, with an emphasis on reducing toxicity and potentially increasing cure rates.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Powell is a dedicated member of the National Cancer Research Network Gynaecological Cancer Group and serves on The East London and City Research Ethics Committee. She is also actively involved in teaching medical students at Barts and The London School of Medicine.
