Dr Michael Perkin is a consultant paediatric allergist, renowned for his expertise in paediatric allergy. He is one of the few specialists in the UK working exclusively in this field. Dr Perkin currently serves as a consultant paediatric allergist at St George's Hospital and is a senior lecturer at St Thomas' Hospital, home to the largest paediatric allergy service in Europe.
Dr Perkin co-leads the EAT Study alongside Professor Gideon Lack. This significant trial focuses on the prevention of food allergy development in infants. His research and clinical work are dedicated to understanding and mitigating allergic diseases in children.
Dr Perkin's extensive training includes stints at Southampton, St Mary's Hospital, and Great Ormond Street Hospital. He was awarded a prestigious Welcome Training Fellowship, during which he completed his PhD.
