    Mr Michael Thilagarajah is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon, specialising in lower limb problems. He is currently based at Darent Valley NHS Hospital in Kent, where he has been a consultant for 20 years. Alongside his NHS role, he also maintains a private practice. Mr Thilagarajah graduated from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School and completed his specialist surgical training at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, as well as several NHS hospitals in Kent. Before his current position, he served as a Consultant Foot and Ankle Surgeon at Guy's and St Thomas'. In his time at Darent Valley, he held the roles of Trauma Lead, and College Tutor for thirteen years. He has 20 years of experience in performing hip and knee replacements as a Consultant, and was the lead for fractured hips for 15 years, significantly improving the quality of service for this vulnerable patient group. Outside his clinical practice, Mr Thilagarajah is passionate about training future surgeons. He regularly teaches at Royal College of Surgeons Surgical Skills courses.
