Mr M S Absar is a highly experienced consultant breast surgeon specialising in oncoplastic breast conservation and breast reconstruction. He graduated from the Calcutta National Medical College in Eastern India and earned his degree in medicine from the University of Calcutta in 1993. He furthered his education by obtaining a Masters in Surgery from Utkal University in 1999.

After relocating to the UK in 2000, Mr Absar achieved his fellowship in surgery (FRCS) from the Royal College of Edinburgh in 2001. He then embarked on a surgical registrar rotation under the North Western Deanery in 2002 and completed his FRCS in General Surgery in 2007. To enhance his oncoplastic skills, he spent a year at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge.

Mr Absar currently holds a consultant post at North Manchester General Hospital, where he has made significant contributions to the field. He has published numerous papers in medical journals and frequently presents at national and international conferences. Since joining the Pennine Acute NHS Trust, he has pioneered the sentinel lymph node biopsy for axillary staging in early breast cancers.
