About Mr Nadim Aslam
Mr Nadim Aslam, BMSc, FRCS Eng, FRCS Orth is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital NHS Trust in Worcester. He also undertakes NHS clnics in Kidderminster, Tenbury Wells and Malvern. He completed his specialist orthopaedic training at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford, which is a world-renowned centre of excellence. He has extensive experience in all aspects of knee and hip surgery including arthroplasty, arthroscopy and ligament reconstruction work. His main interest includes primary and revision arthroplasty of the knee and hip.
Having worked with some of the foremost authorities in this field in Oxford, he undertook fellowship training in knee surgery at the Orthopaedic and Arthritic Institute, Sunnybrook with Dr John Cameron an internationally renowned knee surgeon and sports injury specialist, and St Michaels Hospital, Toronto with leading knee and hip arthroplasty surgeons. This gave him considerable experience in newer minimally invasive techniques, computer navigation surgery and uncemented implants in the field of joint replacement, and was combined with practical exposure to clinical and basic science research in cartilage engineering. He has published and presented on topics internationally.
Nowadays, younger patients fulfil the criteria for joint replacement and he has visited the Joint Replacement Institute, Los Angeles to train in hip resurfacing, and the Rush Institute, Chicago to train in minimally invasive knee and hip surgery.
Before his appointment, he undertook a further specialist Knee and Hip fellowship in Oxford to gain specific training in cartilage and bone conserving surgery (Oxford unicompartmental knee replacement and Hip Replacement). He has extensive experience in the Oxford unicompartmental knee having worked closely with the designers and is on the workshop faculty
