About Miss Naomi Davis

Year qualified: 1988

Place of primary qualification: University of Nottingham

Naomi Davis is a highly respected medical specialist in paediatric orthopaedics, with a particular focus on congenital foot deformities. She has been practising at the Manchester Children's Hospital since her appointment as a consultant in October 2001. Naomi is an expert in the Ponseti Method, a technique she learned directly from Dr. Ponseti and Dr. Fred Dietz, and has over 20 years of experience in managing conditions such as clubfoot (talipes) and congenital vertical talus.

Naomi's areas of expertise extend to managing complex and atypical foot deformities, especially those related to neurological abnormalities like spina bifida and Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT). She also has a broad experience in childhood orthopaedic disorders and growth-related issues. Naomi is deeply committed to children's rehabilitation, focusing on their return to activity and school, and works closely with families to maximise their children's abilities post-treatment.

In addition to her clinical work, Naomi has been the clinical lead of the North West Children's Major Trauma Network since 2011, where she has developed expertise in managing mass casualty incidents. She also leads the Northern and National Children's Rehabilitation Boards and represents children's services on various national committees.

Naomi graduated from Nottingham University Medical School in 1988 and completed her orthopaedic training in Manchester and Toronto. She has been involved in international teaching and is recognised globally as an expert in the Ponseti Method. Her dedication to evidence-based practice and compassionate care has made her a trusted figure in paediatric orthopaedics.
