Mr Nav Johal is a full-time consultant paediatric urologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. He is experienced in all aspects of general paediatric urology and reconstructive paediatric urology, and takes pride in delivering high standards of care for his patients and their families.
Mr Johal trained at several leading healthcare institutions across England, including a fellowship in paediatric urology at Great Ormond Street, Cambridge, Southampton, University College Hospital, and The Royal Marsden Hospital. Mr Johal's areas of expertise include prenatally-diagnosed hydronephrosis and other urological abnormalities detected in pregnancy, foreskin problems such as balanitis, phimosis, and buried penis, and undescended testes. He also specialises in bladder dysfunction including bedwetting, groin and scrotal swellings (hydrocoele, varicocoele, epididymal cysts), hypospadias and other penile abnormalities, urinary tract infections, vesico-ureteric reflux, and urinary tract obstruction including pelvi-ureteric junctional obstruction.
His specialist areas of interest encompass reconstructive urology, including bladder exstrophy, posterior urethral valves, neurogenic bladder, and hypospadias. He is also proficient in uro-oncology and minimally invasive surgery, such as keyhole surgery, retroperitoneoscopy, and endourology. Additionally, Mr Johal offers prenatal counselling for conditions like hydronephrosis and congenital bladder anomalies.
