Mr Navin Furtado is an experienced Consultant Neurosurgeon and Spinal Surgeon with extensive expertise in treating a wide range of spinal conditions, from simple to complex. He currently sees private patients at Ramsay West Midlands Hospital, Spire South Bank Hospital, The Harborne Hospital, Stourside Hospital, and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

Mr Furtado's practice encompasses comprehensive care for the entire spine, spinal cord, and spinal nerves. He addresses issues such as sciatica, leg, back, and arm pain, spinal tumours, spinal deformity, cervical disc replacement, and spine infections, among other conditions.

Mr Furtado completed his medical degree at Imperial College School of Medicine in 2001. He then undertook specialist neurosurgery training in the West Midlands, followed by further specialised training in spinal surgery at Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust. During this time, he gained expertise in both orthopaedic and neurosurgical approaches, as well as experience in microsurgery, minimally invasive techniques, and complex reconstruction procedures.

Mr Furtado is dedicated to providing the best possible treatment for each patient, focusing on individualised approaches and offering informed choices between operative and non-operative interventions.

In addition to patient care, Mr Furtado actively contributes to the education of junior surgeons, general practitioners, and allied health professionals. He is also engaged in clinical research, continually striving to advance the field of spinal surgery.
