Dr Nick Perry qualified at St Bartholomew's Hospital London, obtaining Fellowships of the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Radiologists. He then undertook specialist breast screening secondment at National Training Centres in the UK (Guildford & Nottingham), and Europe (Malmo, Florence & Nijmegen). Appointed to the Consultant Radiologist teaching staff at Barts, he has been Director of the Central and East London Breast Screening Programme from 1993 - 2008.

Dr Perry is Chairman of the European Reference Organisation for Quality Assured Breast Screening and Diagnostic Services (EUREF) and has been Consultant to the European Commission for its Europe Against Cancer Breast Screening Programmes. He advises the European Cancer Network and is Editor-in-Chief and Contributor to the European Commission publication, European Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Breast Screening and Diagnosis now in its fourth addition (2006).

In 2005 he was invited to give evidence to the US Senate Sub-Committee Washington hearings to re-draft the US Mammography Quality Standards Act.

Dr Perry has been lead Radiologist and Director of the Princess Grace Breast Unit since 2000, when it became the first unit in the UK to use Digital Mammography.
