Dr Nikolaos Papamichail has been a consultant cardiologist at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust since 2014. He specialises in echocardiography and serves as the clinical lead for echocardiography within the trust. Additionally, Dr Papamichail performs echocardiography and cardiac imaging under an honorary contract with Guy's and St. Thomas' Foundation Trust. His expertise encompasses all aspects of echocardiography, including complex, 3D, stress, and transesophageal echocardiography.

Dr Papamichail is proficient in diagnosing and managing coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, hypertension, arrhythmias, hyperlipidemia, and heart failure. After qualifying, Dr Papamichail completed his higher training in general cardiology and echocardiography in Greece and the UK. His research interests lie in non-invasive cardiology, and he spent six years in Greece researching antiplatelet treatment of coronary artery thrombosis, earning his PhD. He has authored several publications and book chapters in cardiology and became a fellow of the European Society of Cardiology in 2016.
