Mr Nkwam is a highly skilled Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Princess Royal University Hospital, part of King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London. He specialises in Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) surgery and Endourology. Mr Nkwam graduated in Medicine from St. George’s, University of London in 2007. He became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2010 after completing his core surgical training in Birmingham.
Mr Nkwam pursued higher surgical training in Urology through the East Midlands training programme, achieving Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2017. In 2018, he undertook a 12-month Fellowship in HoLEP surgery and Endourology at Luton & Dunstable Hospital, where he performed nearly 100 HoLEP procedures. He is also completing a Master of Philosophy thesis in Prostate Cancer Diagnostics from Nottingham Trent University.
An avid academic, Mr Nkwam has presented his work at numerous national and international conferences. He has 12 publications in peer-reviewed journals, with seven as the first author. His dedication to clinical audit, quality improvement, and research earned him the East Midlands Trainee Medal in 2017 and the Ian McCallum Research Prize in 2018.
Mr Nkwam is an active member of several professional societies, including the British Association of Urological Surgeons and the European Association of Urology. In 2020, he performed the first-ever HoLEP surgery at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He resides in South London with his wife and two young children.
