Miss Shams qualified from Guys and St Thomas's Hospital School of Medicine in 1999 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Anatomy. She completed her Ophthalmic Surgical training in London, including at Moorfields Eye Hospital, and pursued advanced subspecialty training in Canada, Australia, the UK, and the USA.
