Mr Pasha Nisar FRCS is a Consultant Colorectal and Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgeon at Ashford & St Peter’s NHS Trust, appointed in 2011. He leads colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease surgery at the Trust. Mr Nisar performed the first single incision ‘scarless’ operation for cancer and the first artificial sphincter implant at the Trust. He established the department's research programme with Royal Holloway, University of London, and supervises PhD studies on genetic biomarkers for colon cancer. He is also co-ordinating the development of robotic surgery and serves as the clinical lead for endoscopy at Princess Margaret Hospital.

Mr Nisar grew up in Sunningdale and attended King’s College School, Wimbledon. He studied medicine at Trinity College, Cambridge University, and Addenbrooke’s. He earned a doctorate from The University of Nottingham for his thesis at the Academic Surgical Unit. His specialist surgical training was completed in the London Deanery, including St George’s, Frimley Park, and Royal Surrey Hospitals. He spent a year at the Cleveland Clinic USA, training under Professor Vic Fazio in the Department of Digestive Disease.

Mr Nisar is a high-volume surgeon with expertise in all aspects of colorectal disease, hernia repair, and endoscopy. His focus is on achieving the best clinical outcomes and excellent results for patients. He is an international conference speaker with over 50 articles and book chapters published. In 2019, he was voted Global Health and Pharma Colorectal Surgeon of the Year. His expert areas include groin and abdominal hernia surgery, advanced colonoscopy, keyhole surgery for bowel cancer, and treatment for haemorrhoids.
