Mr Peter Ayliffe is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at University College London Hospitals and Great Ormond Street Hospital London. He qualified in Dentistry from the Royal Dental Hospital, University of London in 1982 and in Medicine from St Georges Hospital Medical School in 1992. He holds multiple fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, including the specialist Fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Mr Ayliffe was appointed as a Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon and Senior Lecturer at Grampian Health Authority and the University of Aberdeen in January 2001. He moved to his current roles in London in 2002. His areas of expertise include facial injuries, cancers of the head and neck, medical conditions of the mouth, and facial plastic surgery. He is particularly specialised in facial deformity and facial trauma.

Mr Ayliffe's interests span a wide range of procedures such as dentoalveolar surgery, temporomandibular joint surgery, forehead surgery, jaw surgery, and chin surgery. He also performs head and neck cancer surgery, submandibular gland tumour surgery, and oral reconstruction. Conditions treated by Mr Ayliffe include cleft lip, palate, craniofacial abnormalities, oral cancer, and head and neck tumours.

In addition to his clinical work, Mr Ayliffe is an honorary Senior Lecturer at The Institute of Child Health at the University of London and a member of the faculty for the Fellowship examination at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. His dual qualifications in dentistry and medicine make him a highly respected figure in his field.
