Mr Philip Turner is an esteemed orthopaedic surgeon specialising in conditions of the knee. He has a particular interest in sports injuries, ligament reconstructions, partial and total knee replacements, and revision surgery. Mr Turner is an Honorary Professor in the School of Health Sciences at the University of Salford.
Mr Turner has held several prestigious roles throughout his career. He has served as President of the British Orthopaedic Association and is an elected Trustee, Council member, and Chair of the Professional Standards Committee of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. His leadership extends to his role as the founding Chair of the Confederation of Postgraduate Schools of Surgery for the UK.
In addition to his academic and professional contributions, Mr Turner has been instrumental in the development of orthopaedic services in Greater Manchester. He established the Greater Manchester Orthopaedic Alliance and has been the Clinical Lead for the restructuring of orthopaedic and trauma services across the region.
Mr Turner’s dedication to education is evident in his previous roles as Training Programme Director and Head of the NW School of Surgery. His extensive experience and commitment to advancing orthopaedic care make him a highly respected figure in his field.
