Miss Rashmi Verma is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust. She assesses and treats breast conditions, with specialist expertise in breast cancer surgery, oncoplastic breast-conserving surgery and breast reconstruction.
Her clinical interests include therapeutic mammoplasty, breast reduction, lipomodelling, implant-based reconstruction, latissimus dorsi reconstruction and chest wall perforator flap reconstruction. She considers both cancer treatment and the reconstructive or cosmetic result when discussing surgical options with patients.
Miss Verma qualified at Christian Medical College in Vellore, India, and completed higher surgical training in general surgery before continuing specialist training in the UK. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and holds an MD from the University of Leeds, where her research examined breast cancer and the immune system.
She also holds a Master of Medical Sciences in Medical Education with Distinction from the University of Nottingham and has undertaken postgraduate training in medical leadership. Her academic work includes peer-reviewed publications and contributions to specialist surgical textbooks.
