About Dr Rebecca Gibbs

GMC number: 6147591

Year qualified: 2006

Place of primary qualification: University of London

Miss Gibbs is a seasoned obstetrician and gynaecologist, specialising in hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and menopause, conducting colposcopies, and managing vulval disease. She is a consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology at the Royal Free Hospital, London, and performs minor surgical procedures at The Portland Hospital.

Miss Gibbs graduated from St Bartholomew's and the Royal London School of Medicine (University of London) in 2006. She obtained membership in The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2011. In 2016, she earned accreditation as a colposcopist from the British Society for Colposcopists and Cervical Pathology.

Her primary focus is on caring for women with abnormal smear test results, managing cervical polyps, post-coital bleeding, and cervical ectropions. Recognising the potential dermatological connections associated with vulval conditions, Miss Gibbs frequently collaborates with dermatologists to ensure comprehensive and holistic management.

Recently, Miss Gibbs completed the advanced training skills module in the management of menopause at the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She brings updated knowledge to the team, particularly regarding the safe prescription of HRT, including the use of testosterone therapy for reduced libido.

Miss Gibbs actively volunteers for the Daisy Network, the UK's premature ovarian insufficiency charity, and collaborates with the London Havens to provide care for victims of sexual assault.

Her areas of expertise include colposcopy (BSCCP accredited), menopause management, management of vulval disorders, and colposcopy treatments such as LLETZ and cryocautery.
