Dr Berman is a highly respected consultant in palliative medicine at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Europe's largest cancer centre. He graduated in medicine from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School (University of London) in 1996. Dr Berman initially became a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2001, before joining a specialist training programme for palliative medicine at the Royal College of Physicians in 2002.

Dr Berman has a wealth of experience in managing complex pain and symptoms in cancer patients. His areas of expertise include pain management, symptom control, pain control in cancer, complex symptom control in advanced disease, and malignant bowel obstruction. He is particularly skilled in the management of complex symptoms in cancer and malignant bowel obstruction.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Berman serves as an honorary senior lecturer and undergraduate tutor, contributing to the education and training of future medical professionals. He is also the Chair of the Christie patient experience committee, where he plays a crucial role in enhancing patient care and satisfaction.
