Mr Richard Brough is a consultant urologist and the urological cancer lead at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport. He qualified in 1987 from the University of Manchester and has trained extensively in the northwest of England and Australia. Over the years, Mr Brough has honed his skills in laparoscopic surgery, particularly in the treatment of prostatic and kidney diseases. Notably, he and a colleague recently performed the first series of laparoscopic cystectomies (bladder removal) in Manchester.

Mr Brough is also a dedicated trainer and examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons, contributing to the education and development of future medical professionals.

His areas of expertise include a wide range of urological procedures and treatments. These include adult circumcision, flexible and rigid cystoscopy, prostate cancer treatments such as prostatectomy, surgery for benign scrotal lumps, TURBT (transurethral resection of a bladder tumour), TURP (transurethral resection of the prostate), urethrotomy, vasectomy, and vasectomy reversal. He is highly experienced in the assessment and treatment of disorders of the kidney and bladder, with a particular focus on prostate and bladder cancer.
