Dr Rooshi Nathwani is a consultant hepatologist whose practice covers liver disease, gastroenterology and general internal medicine. He is the Clinical Lead for Hepatology Early Detection Pathways, with a particular interest in identifying liver damage early.

He assesses abnormal liver function tests and manages fatty liver disease, hepatitis and alcohol-related liver disease. His specialist interests include cirrhosis, decompensated cirrhosis, portal hypertension and rare liver diseases. His clinical work includes FibroScan assessment and diagnostic and therapeutic upper gastrointestinal endoscopy.

Dr Nathwani completed specialist training in the North West London Deanery and advanced hepatology training at the Royal Free and Imperial College London hospitals. He holds MBBS, MSc and MRCP (Gastro) qualifications and a PhD from Imperial College London.

He remains involved in clinical research and has contributed to peer-reviewed publications on liver disease. His educational work includes organising teaching programmes and lecturing on hepatology courses. He also speaks Gujarati.
