Dr Rupa Parmar worked as an NHS GP partner for nearly 10 years before setting up Midland Health. Working as an NHS community gynaecology GP, she was fitting coils and implants and was responsible for offering enhanced menopause care and investigate, diagnose and treat quite complex gynaecological problems.

Dr Parmar was born in Northamptonshire and qualified from the University of Birmingham Medical School in 2004 and has been a GP since 2008. Her GP training was completed in NE London and Bath and she gained membership to the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) in 2008. She has additional training in gynaecology and contraception and was involved in setting up an NHS community gynaecology service in Bristol. During her stay in Perth, Australia in 2016, Dr Parmar experienced healthcare delivery in a different country through her work as a private and Medicare GP. She realised this was what she wanted to do on her return to the UK; provide quality care, be able to give her patients the time they needed and use her clinical and diagnostic skills to promptly diagnose and treat patients. In 2017 on returning to the UK she was appointed as Virgin Care Private’s Medical Director and set up Virgin Care’s first private clinic in Birmingham and delivered private general practice to clients at the clinic. In 2019 she founded Midland Health. Providing personalised care which considers lifestyle, mental health and wellbeing factors, Midland Health aims to empower every patient to live their best life. Providing an easy to navigate pay-as-you-go service, Midland Health provides comprehensive healthcare for all the family.

She can set up and transform clinical services to a high quality, efficient and safe service. She is able to manage and lead teams through mergers and change. Attention to detail is important to her whilst wanting high quality, cost effective, efficient health care services to patients and clients with customer satisfaction at the heart.

Dr Parmar’s approach to healthcare is holistic, taking into account nutrition, lifestyle, mental and spiritual wellbeing. She has a passion for delivering lifestyle medicine and helping individuals become the best versions of themselves and supporting them through lifestyle changes and stressful times. She lives locally in Edgbaston with her husband and their two young children, and enjoys yoga and mindfulness, cooking, socialising, and long countryside walks with her family.
