Dr Howell is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at The Christie, specialising in the treatment of early and advanced breast cancer. He has extensive expertise in managing all aspects of the patient pathway, from pre and post-operative endocrine and chemotherapy in the curative setting to optimising treatment for patients with advanced disease.

Dr Howell completed his medical training at the University of Nottingham and further specialised in Medical Oncology at The Christie. He earned his PhD in Medical Oncology from the University of Manchester in 2016. In 2010, he was appointed Senior Lecturer in Breast Oncology at the University of Manchester. He collaborates closely with scientists at the Manchester Breast Centre, focusing on translating novel approaches to target normal and cancer stem cells into breast cancer prevention and treatment.

Dr Howell's areas of expertise include translational breast oncology and endocrine therapy of breast cancer. His clinical interests lie in developing and implementing advanced treatment strategies to improve patient outcomes. He is dedicated to advancing the field of breast oncology through both his clinical practice and research efforts.
