Miss Salena Bains is a highly skilled consultant specialising in breast cancer and benign breast conditions at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. With a particular interest in oncoplastic and reconstructive surgery, as well as sarcoma management, she brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Miss Bains also has specialist training in delivering electrochemotherapy, further enhancing her comprehensive approach to patient care.

Appointed as a consultant after completing a national oncoplastic fellowship, Miss Bains has since taken on several key leadership roles. She currently serves as the breast cancer lead, breast MDT lead, and clinical lead at University Hospitals Birmingham. Her dedication to her work is evident in her extensive involvement in both local and national clinical trials, as well as her collaborative research efforts with the University of Birmingham.

Miss Bains holds a PhD from King's College London, awarded for her significant contributions to breast cancer research. She has presented her findings at numerous national and international conferences and has published several influential papers in the field. She actively teaches undergraduates and postgraduates at the University of Birmingham and serves as a Personal Academic Tutor for medical students in their third through fifth years.
