Dr Salim Shafeek is a consultant haematologist practicing at Worcestershire Royal NHS Hospital, where he holds the position of Clinical Director for Haematology & Oncology and serves as Head of Clinical Haematology for Worcestershire County. He is currently engaged in the reorganization of the cancer network for the county.

With particular clinical interests in lymphoma and myeloma, Dr Shafeek's clinic focuses on treating general haematology diseases, including acute and chronic leukaemia, haemato-oncology, red cell disorders, and thrombosis haemostasis. He received his haemato-oncology training at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, and the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwick. Additionally, he serves as a PACES examiner for the MRCP (UK) exam at the Royal College of Physicians of London, Edinburgh & Glasgow.

Dr Shafeek is dedicated to education, teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Birmingham, where he has held the position of Senior Lecturer in Haematology since 2005. This role allows him to maintain close ties to ongoing cancer studies and academic research, particularly in leukaemia, myeloma, lymphoma, and myeloproliferative disorder. He collaborates closely with the Cure Leukemia Charity and actively participates in fundraising activities for this charity and for the Breast Cancer unit in Worcester. Outside of his professional endeavours, Dr Shafeek enjoys photography and cricket. He is happily married with two children.
