Dr?Sam?Botchey is a Consultant in Musculoskeletal, Sport and Exercise Medicine. he was appointed in 2019 after completing higher specialist training in the Oxford deanery and became a fellow of the Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine. he trained in emergency medicine at st?mary’s trauma centre and holds MBBS, BSc, MSc, PGCert and FFSEM qualifications. he earned a distinction in musculoskeletal ultrasound from the University of East London.

He practises at HCA UK at the Shard (london), the Princess Margaret hospital (windsor) and in community services within the nhs. he also holds civilian SEM consultant roles at the Ministry of Defence’s Aldershot regional rehabilitation unit and in the NHS Frimley ICB advanced musculoskeletal and diagnostics service in Camberley. his private clinical interests include performance optimisation and longevity support, alongside specialist non surgical management of musculoskeletal conditions across all age groups.

He works as a pitch side consultant for tottenham hotspur football club and serves as an nfl team doctor for London games. he has also supported elite teams including england football squads (senior and development), chelsea, arsenal, premiership rugby, london irish, saracens, Southampton football club, oxford university rugby and uk sport.

Areas of expertise include diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound, ultrasound guided joint and soft tissue injections (including steroid, PRP, hyaluronic acid and Arthrosamid), extracorporeal shockwave therapy, hydrodilatation for frozen shoulder and high volume tendon injections. conditions treated range from acute sports injuries and overuse syndromes (tendinopathy, shin splints, plantar fasciitis) to chronic pain (arthritis, bursitis, sciatica, osteoarthritis), stress fractures, paediatric/adolescent MSK conditions and connective tissue disorders.
