Mr Samuel Ford is a Consultant Surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, with a specialist interest in general, upper gastrointestinal, and sarcoma surgery. Mr Ford trained in general and upper GI surgery in the South West and, after completing his training in 2014, undertook further specialist fellowships in sarcoma surgery in Birmingham and Milan. He was awarded a PhD in cancer biology from the University of Birmingham following a three-year period as the Cancer Research UK Clinical Research Fellow.

Mr Ford is very active in the field of research, with his portfolio centred on optimising outcomes for patients with sarcoma and neuroendocrine tumours. He is supervising two PhD students and is setting up a series of international randomised trials. In addition to his supervisorship, Mr Ford has published papers on sarcoma management and has contributed to international consensus statements on the management of sarcoma and gastrointestinal stromal tumours. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Birmingham and sits on the Neuroendocrine Tumour Expert Advisory Group and the EORTC board for Sarcoma.
