About Dr Samuel Smith
Dr Samuel Smith is a UK-trained Consultant Gastroenterologist with full Joint Advisory Group (JAG) accreditation in upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy. He completed his medical training (MBChB) and a degree in psychological medicine (BMedSci (Hons)) at the University of Birmingham in 2009. He furthered his sub-speciality interest in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases and Endoscopy by completing a PhD in "Advanced Endoscopic Techniques in the Lower Gastrointestinal Tract" at the University of Birmingham.
Dr Smith has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at international meetings, including chairing sessions. He is a member of the General Medical Council, the British Society of Gastroenterology, and the Royal College of Physicians.
Outside of his medical career, Dr Smith enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He keeps active in racquet sports and has a keen interest in football and cricket.
